The National Council on Continuing Medical Education Assessment, or NCCMEA, believes that individuals certified as healthcare professionals must continue to expand their skills to enhance the quality of services they provide.
To maintain certification, NCCMEA certification holders must renew their certification every 2 years via continuing education work experience or re-examination.

The continuing education requirements prescribes that 16 hours of continuing education within the current two-year period must be completed, or you must have worked in the profession for pay, a minimum of eight (16) hours within the last twenty-four (24) consecutive months under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. NCCMEA reviews and qualifies all continuing education submissions for approval and accumulation towards certification renewal. Organizations providing continuing education may choose to have their programs pre-approved by NCCMEA.
